I brought it up to college in upstate new york and was advised to get all season or winter tires. I'm really trying to measure my costs and benefits for getting winter or all season tires. How much performance is lost in the summer from driving on all season tires rather than summer tires? Will this be enough for the snow in the winter? If there is snow on the ground, but its cold, which tire performs better? I don't have time to change the tires myself (believe me, I really would want to!)...so how much am I looking at to get them changed each time? If I get all season tires, would it be worth it switching back to summer tires in the summer?
Here's what I am on now:
Tire brandPirelli
Tire modelP Zero
Tire typeSummer
Tire size, frontP245/45ZR20
Tire size, rearP275/40ZR20
Wheel size20-by-8 inches front -- 20-by-9 inches rear
Are there any tires anyone can suggest. I'm looking for the best bang for my buck. Also, will I need to change my wheels if I change tires?
THANKS!!
