I have a 2007 equinox LT. The AC/Heater Fan is delayed a few mins coming on in the mornings. Once the car warms up 3 or 4 mins the Vent Fan kicks on and works fine. Anyone know if this is normal on these vehicles? Again only notice it in the mornings when it's cold. After it kicks on its fine, then does the same next morning.

What happens when you select AC and a cold temperature, does it come on immediately?

Not in the mornings it doesn't. Once the fan does come on everything works as normal. It's just in the mornings, this morning it took it 15 min before the blower kicked on and started blowing.

Could it be the motor blower Resistor? I have read if those are starting to go bad that the fan can work inconsistent as well.
To determine the cause you would have to test if the motor is receiving power when it's cold. If you set the fan speed to high the resistor is bypassed.

I turned it straight to high when I first turn it on. It still doesn't come on until 5 10 sometimes 15 mins. I just never know how long it's going to take for it to start blowing. I got a new resistor but it's a pain in the butt to get to those bolts holding it in.

Consider the high speed blower relay not the resistor.

But what I'm saying is it doesn't work on any speed not just high. The fan will not turn on at all first thing in mornings until few mins have passed. Then it kicks on regardless of speed it's set on

Look at Rockauto or other sites your vehicle uses a blower control module which combines resistor and high speed relay.

That is what I'm changing out. Will let you know tomorrow if that fixes it. I should know in morning when I turn fan on if it starts up right away then that was probably it.

I will say I did get it swapped out and the fan is blowing on all speeds. I will have to check tomorrow morning after it gets cool and sits overnight. It's the cold morning time when it does it.

@zora well that didn't fix my problem. It didn't come on at all this morning but it was working yesterday after I installed the new Resistor. I've got to take it to chevy dealer Tues anyway for them to fix a airbag sensor in seat, I guess I will just get them to fix the Blower problem while they got it

@zora Actually I think I found it's the motor, I can tap on blower motor and it will kick on and start blowing.
