Please help! I'm trying to learn as much as I can while troubleshooting why my A/C doesn't blow cold.
Symptoms/notes:
A/C light does come on when I push the button in. However, clutch does NOT engage (that would explain the warm air output, huh?)

Fuses are good both outside and inside.

I have read a lot of posts and watched at least 2 hours of youtube video (I'm now an expert, right???)

Pressure is 25psi on low side when the engine is off or at idle (Probably due to clutch not engaging). Cannot read the high side yet (working on it). I shorted across what I thought was the low side switch - connected to the evap/collector/can next to firewall. Clutch engaged! So, I thought, I must have a bad low side switch. However, I go to my friendly NAPA and they show me a picture of the low side safety switch and it doesn't look like what I crossed. What I crossed, according to his computer, was the compressor clutch cycler (huh?). This is where I need your help.

Did I cross something other than the low side switch?

If I did cross the right switch (remember the clutch came on), should I proceed with replacing that switch as a less expensive first step?

If I do replace the switch, can I unscrew it from the side of the evap/collector/can next to firewall without recharing the system?

I would appreciate any help any of you could provide. As a note, I'm really enjoying troubleshooting this issue. I hope I can fix it myself.

Rented a set of gauges from AutoZone - I have to make sure I purchase something from them in the near future - tool rental is a plus.
Will post results from my test later.

So, ran a test with the gauges attached. Started with the compressor off and both sides show roughly the same PSI - around 20. When I short the "low side switch" or the " low pressure cyclical switch" or whatever it is, and I push the AC button, the compressor kicks on and the low side drops to below 0 and the high side bumps up to about 75psi. I would say it was 90 degrees outside during my test.
So, that's about as far as I've gotten. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike
