Get a fuel pressure gauge and put it on the port under the hood next to fire wall on the fuel rail.
My parents Yukon did the same thing the 2 inch long fuel line had a wore out piece in the side of it. I would get it down to the 1/2 tank where it does missing and check the fuel pressure. I would when you fine out the fuel pressure is low drop the tank and replace the fuel pump dont just replace the fuel line you have it out replace the pump. So if you go down the road a few 1000 miles more and the pump went out member you had the tank out.
