I've got a 98 k1500 that at one point used to be an agency vehicle. I think forest service? It's got some interesting wiring. Recently the AC control module had a short. Previously, the mode door had hesitation when changing between defrost and dash vents. I replaced the control unit and when plugged in, all switches worked as they should. When I went to snap it into place, the new one shorted out. The blower switch continued to work, but all other controls had lost power. After inspection, I find that it is the #5 pin on the largest connector, the brown ignition wire. Since the blower continued working, I figure it's gotta be one of the actuators. I took off the actuator on the driver's side and I find a small limit switch that is operated when the doors arms are toward the rear of the car. I follow those wires into the engine bay and find one goes to ground and the other leads to a splice at the compressor connector. Anybody got any idea what that's for?

Tried a Google search and can not find any reference to it. You might need a shop manual for that.
