I have a 1996 2500. The brake lights work but not when I'm using the turn signals!!!!

All the lights work otherwise.

Any ideas???

if they are double filament bulbs you have checked that nothing is burnt out? have you checked the ground connections in the back?

The entire assemblies are brand new, I plugged the old one in and still had the same results. I will check for ground wires in the back.

I also want to add that the turn signal lever doesn't always make a good contact to activate the turn signals unless I jiggle it around. Sometimes I can hear a buzzing sound. Like it's trying to make contact but cant..

that sounds like you have a bad turn signal switch.

Yea I'm pretty sure it's a bad lever that's bad but will that cause the issue at hand?

I did notice that the brake lights both work when I'm not using the turn signal. When I use the signal the opposite brake light works. Hmmmm

I would have someone sit in the car with their foot on the brake pedal and have slowly move the turn signal switch from center to right to left and see if at some point both brake lights come on and the signal works, if that condition can happen than you have a bad contact of some sort in the turn signal switch. You did check the ground connections for the rear lamps?
