78 headlight switch

So I'm swapping out my 78 nova base dash instrument panel and I can't figure out how to take the headlight switch off. I twisted the back end and found out it threaded t hold in place but I can't get off the actual dash.

On the bottom of the headlight switch, there should be a little button. You push that button in and the stem and knob should pull right out. Click on this link and enlarge the photo and you'll see the little button I'm referring to. It's got a small spring under it.

after you do what Chuzz instructed unscrew the front bezel from the switch shaft.

The link didn't work but I went out there and found the spring on the side and I got it off thanks again

Yes I found that button I got it off the dash and onto the new one but trying to get the new one to get into place
