I've had a 78 or 79 Corvette Stingray sitting in the garage broken down for around the last 20 years. When I asked what it would take to start it up again (besides basics like fuel tank replacement, etc) I was told that rats have totally eaten through most of the wiring, so it would need a complete rewire, and that I shouldn't even think of doing the rewire job myself as I'm not familiar with it.
Is it as intense as it sounds? About how much does a complete rewire job run at a shop? Any tips/other things to make sure I think about before I decide to save up?
