im in need of a transmission for my 2WD 99 tahoe in dallas georgia i was at work went to back into parking spot an then heard loud clang i tore reverse out no leaks of trans fluid or no busted drive shaft i was able to put in drive an move it then after work limped it home in 3rd at 45 miles hour need a used one for cheap or rebuilt one

i mean i could but thats like reachin in a basket hopin for something good your not sure what ya goin to get

well the only other source would be a rebuilder which you can find using google

question though you think it could be reverse clutch considering i have forward gears just no reverse an sound like something broke when reverse went out but with a broke reverse clutch would it make a whinnin/humming noise

without disassembly there is no way of knowing how many parts need replacement

yeah that is very true my friend very true but from what it sounds like the reverse drum/clutch or something broke im not sure without reverse that i should drive it if any other harm could be done

Well if you have metal particles floating around you will cause more damage
