2x4 vs 4x4 Suburban

I am in the market for a suburban. I live in Kansas so its rare that I would use 4x4. I have a silverado if i need it. I have a growing family and really need a suburban. I am not a mini van guy nor will i ever be and suburban is what i am after. I am really curious if it matters much to get the 2x4 or 4x4 considering there is about a 3-4k price difference. My question is do the 2x4's do ok in snow considering how heavy they are and would I really need a 4x4 for just my average daily drive to the city or vacation with my family. Thanks for help.

I live in Wichita and own a 2wd Suburban. I agree with you. The price and the MPG difference don't justify having 4wd in KS unless maybe you live off on dirt roads.
