I purchased a 2011 Chevy Avalanche in January and its been back in the shop 4 times! I would really like to verify some info about this truck that these jerks are feeding me. I am complaining about the hard shifting. When I want to stop its like my truck is fighting itself. Ill have my foot on the brake but my engine is still roaring to keep going so I push harder on the brake and then my trany hard shifts down. When I complained about this to Faulkner Chevy their "Top Mechanic" told me that the new trucks no longer have a self slowing engine for economic purposes so when I take my foot off the brake the truck no longer slows itself down so he said the hard shifting im feeling is the truck switching from 8 cylinders to 4. I find this to be hard to believe because I tested this theory and I found there are times my truck does slow itself down and other times it doesnt. I need some input from anyone who knows about these new trucks. I have no faith in that service dept since they told me that the moisture that I kept finding on the inside of my windows was from the tint I have on them.... when really its because I had 2 bad water leaks into my truck! I would really appreciate any input. Thank you for your time!!
