Have a 2009 Suburban LT with liftgate that won't open. the gate is loose and shakes about 1/2" but will not open. Can't find any fail safe latch to release the gate. Like to replace the electric latch with a mechanical one. Can't believe chevy would build an electrical gate that could not be opened if it failed, but so far am unable to find one on the internet. Found many complains of failure with chevy gates, but no solution. Anyone with an idea how to open this gate.
