My neighbor owns a 2008 Chevy Silverado, recently it has begun to shift extremely hard. We've noticed once you start the truck the shift panel does not underline which gear it is in. I.E. Once moving the shift lever into R it doesn't become underlined. Additionally when driving you hear a click within the dash. It sounds electrical, so I am guessing it is.
We have taken the truck to autozone and used their diagnostic tool, and it read error codes P0700, and P1815. Both are related to the transmission, however they are very general codes. I told her to wait before she takes it to a local repair shop, it's always better to do some research before you get charged and outrageous amount of money for something that isn't even broken. If you have ever had a similar issue, or have ideas on what it could be, please leave a comment.
