2008 Malibu transmission swap

I'm looking to replace my tranny due to the common 3-5-R wave plate failure. This car has the 6t70 tranny, what can i replace it with?

Specs:
2008 Chevy Malibu 3.6L V6 6spd Auto

You can only replace it with another 6T70 that has been rebuilt and comes with a warranty.

What if I wanted to do a manual conversion?

Chevrolet did not make a manual transmission for the Malibu so you would have to engineer the conversion. In addition to the transmission you would have to come up with a shift mechanism and clutch pedal setup.
