2007 Chevrolet stereo compatibility with 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt?

I would like to change my 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt's stereo out for a 2007 Chevrolet stereo(or 2008-current). I am just curious if anyone knows of the compatibility between the two models because I know there are probably other types of wires due to the upgraded system, like the iPod jack, which is the reason I am wanting to switch it out? If there is any way to switch them out, I would really appreciate any advice that I can get!! Thank you!

Factory stereo are more expensive to replace if you buy from the factory. You are better off buying an after market stereo for your car. They are better quality and more flexible than the factory head unit. Alpine is one of the best head unit in the market.
