2006 Malibu electronic power steering harder in one direction

I just replaced the electric steering motor in my 2006 Malibu Maxx. It is much easier to turn the wheel left than to turn it right. Is this something that would be fixed by resetting the steering angle sensor, or do I have a bad motor?
And if I need to reset the steering angle, can that be done manually or would I need OBD scanner/programmer to do that?

What you are describing sounds like a sensor issue and they use a Tech 2 or similar device. There also appears to have been recalls on the steering motor. Check the NHTSA site.
