Hi guys, Just got a 2004 k1500 suburban, 170k miles. Am wondering if heat is an issue on these of if I have a bad thermostat/ water pump/ heater core, etc. I'll start it on a cold morning, and she'll heat up steadily to 200/ 210 degrees, but no heat, even with the blower on full. I have to drive about 1/2 a mile before any heat kicks in. Is this normal? This is our first big truck-- we love it-- am I worrying for nothing? After driving with great heat, if I sit and idle, the heat cools right off, still with the temp guage at a good 200-ish operating temp.
If you could help, I'd appreciate!
