Our vehicle is a 2003 (one owner) Z-71 Suburban that has a frequent but not always recurring noise (used to be more of a 'ticking' but now seems to be more of a 'wet rubber on wet rubber' squeak) that seems to come from the dash cluster area.

Sound familiar to anyone?!?

if you google "suburban squeaky dash" you come up with lots of hits. Typically there is no specific cause, varies vehicle to vehicle, but the solutions involve disassembly of the dash and tightening of any clips with additional materials, tape, caulk, etc. I also checked TSB's, technical service bulletins, and there are none concerning dash noises.

UPDATE...

My wife couldn't handle the annoying noise coming from the lower dash area so off to our local auto shop (McGaw Automotive, Pantego, TX) and he quickly diagnosed the problem area and went on to fix the problem.

The fix remove the dash (ugh!$!) and replace a a/c door actuator that had failed because of a door 'misfit' on the inside of the firewall.

Noise is gone, repair was minor but access to the repair was extensive and somewhat costly. THE NOISE IS GONE!:)

glad to hear you found the source of the noise, sorry it was an expensive repair.
