- check engine light went on after being started in EXTREMELY cold weather.
- takes longer to start
- car shakes (from the front) constantly, but much worse when in an idle position
- check engine light is permenantly on, but when car is being driven 30 mph (rough estimate) and faster, it is blinking
- car has died while being driven in colder weather, not in warmer weather

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks!

Did you go and find out why check engine light is on? Auto Zone does it for free.

Always start with the easiest and obvious. In your case you have a check engine light on so start there. You could have had a sensor failure (and went out of range causing your check engine light to come on), but with a drive-ability problem like what you've described it's more likely there's is an actual fault somewhere that the computer has detected through a sensor.

Drive or tow it in to a shop and get it checked out. Based on the severity of your drive-ability issue, I would guess you will need some type or repair anyway.
