I have a 2002 Suburban that ocassionally will not start. I go to start it and nothing! No lights, no clicks in the ignition, no gauges work. I can jump it and it starts right up, even works for awhile (right up until it wont start again for no reason) I have installed a new battery, still occassionally wont start. Any suggestions?

Did you check the charging system? You can try replacing the ignition switch. You can try having the BCM scanned for codes. I assume no check engine light?

yes we have had the charging system checked, everything is ok. No lights come on anywhere. Im thinking electrical short?? Fuse??? Very frustrating.

Since when jumping it starts right up it's not a short or fuse. Check the battery cables on both ends. Still a possbile ignition swith.

Question do you hear the buser in the passenger compartment. My 94 was acting up would start one time, then not start, I replaced the starter and it went away.

I'd be taking a close look at the battery cables for corrosion and good connections. I'm no mechanic, but that's always the first thing to look at. You may have a broken ground strap from the engine to the frame too.

Sounds a bit like bad electrical connection to the battery.

Did you try checking/cleaning the battery posts and terminals? Use baking soda and/or a wire brush. Get everything shiny clean before re-connecting.

If you have a volt meter, you can check battery voltages or have a parts store (usually for free) do an electrical test for you.
