First of all i would like to say that i'm a proud original owner of a 2002 AV z66. Well the day has come and my tranny appears to want to go into retirement --- will not come out of first gear ---- after 224k miles of loyalty.

Now the big question is, what should i replace it with? I just started looking into it today (2-08-17) and would like some feedback as to some replacements to get my AV back on the road again. Should i go new, certified, rebuilt? Should i go OEM or are there some alternative brands out there that you AV owners love or have had a good experience with? What should i expect to pay? Any info welcomed.

Thank You,
Raul Z

I believe you are going to want to go with a rebuilt transmission from a local shop that specializes in transmissions and has a good reputation. I really doubt they still make the transmission new and it would be probably cost more than the value of the vehicle.
