Truck will be going along fine, smooth running- only happens after approx 15 miles.
Ist time---- lost power going up slight incline- was taken in and fuel filters replaced.
That was approx 2 mo. ago and have taken to work daily and made a trip- less than 100 mi. with no problem.
2nd time...Monday pm after approx 15 mi again...lost power and engine oil light came on.
Immediately turned truck on and call wrecker
at sight, oil was checked- showed correct level on dip stick
mechanic stating " hopes engine was not scoured "
has been put on machine twice- shows no problems
he has not gotten to it after this last incident
What should be checked ???
What could be going on here please ????
Do not want to buy a new vehicle but must have dependable transportation
Suggestions please ????
Sorry , forgot to add that a bottle of the fuel cleaner had been added and a higher grade of "pure gasoline" from different location used after 1st incident.
Mechanic thought water may have been in the fuel...thank you for those suggestion.
Sorry, did not make this clear-this is a one owner truck-my friend bought brand new.
The key was not repeatedly turned on either incident, especially the last when oil light on.
