2001 silverado 5.3L 4wd. 157,000 miles.
Truck all of a sudden started sputtering when it starts, finally gets going, but starts to die once in a while. I replaced the fuel filter, and it ran fine for about 20 miles, and started acting up again.
Right now it is by the side of the road and won't run.
Any suggestions of what to check?
I can work on most stuff myself, so hate to take it in, is there a o2 sensor I can unplug to see? Is it the fuel pump?
One time while sputtering and backfiring, the Check Engine Soon light came on, but don't really have a way to check the codes, unless I have it towed somewhere. So, I am hoping for some advice.
