ok i have a 2000 chevy silverado k3500 7.4 big block 454 that wont start. one day i left for work, got to work parked it and was going to leave for lunch started in it ran for a moment then died. i tried to restart it but it wouldnt start i turns over but wont run. it has gas, a full tank i was told it may be a fuel pump but im not sure can someone help me?

Get someone to turn on the key (not crank) while you listen at the gas tank. You should hear the fuel pump running for 10 seconds or so. If no fuel pump, it won't crank. You can also try squirting some starter fluid into the intake and cranking on it which should start it if it is a fuel problem which is what it sounds like. There is a slim possibility of a timing chain jumping but usually when you go to crank after it running fine, it does nothing except spin really fast. If you had a Haynes it will tell you the location of the fuel pump test wire to jump and bypass all the relays and solenoids. It has a green end on it and is under the hood but exactly where I don't know on your model truck.
