1999 chevy silverado upgrades?

I own a 99' chevy 1500 silverado, it has stock everything. Im looking at upgrades for it and have decided on a K&N 77 series air intake and Grantelli mpg spark plug wires. What i am asking is which upgrade should i get first? i cant afford to get both at the same time. Reason....Im 16.

I would go with the air intake, as it will make it breath better.
If the plug wires you have are not giving problems you probably won't see any difference.
