I just had the seals done on my 1998 Chevy Blazer LS 4x4. It seems to not be shifting correctly. I also will not go into 2 hi or 4 hi it just makes sort of like a camera shutter sound and blinks then goes off. But it did engage into 4lo.

When trying to go up hills I have to floor it for it to go and it takes a few seconds before it gets any speed at all. When driving it seems to not want to shift I had it up to 40mph and the rpms were up at 4,000 rpms and it still did not seem like it shifted into 2nd.

When putting it into gears individually 1st, 2nd and 3rd it seems to engage.

The fluid level is full. It was completely drained torque converter and all and it has a new filter when the seal was put in.

The exhaust was cut by the catalytic converter to get the transmission out for the seals so it is very loud and needs to be welded back on.

I am lost do you have any ideas?

who installed the seals, you or a shop? If a shop take it back, if you did it go over anything you disconnected electrically to see if you have a poor connection, broken connector, etc. If an O ring is used on the filter, you did remove the old one?

It was by a "so called" mechanic and he won't take it back.

And due to it the transmission started to grind and the transfer case blew up. So its toast. A simple job just turned to $2000.

wow, sorry to hear that, have you started looking for a used one? A good source is www.car-parts.com

Most likely its just going to sit I do not got any money to put into it right now. Will just use my Dodge Neon since its the only running vehicle.

I know if that seal was done right and it was put back together properly that Blazer easily could make it to over 300,000 miles it ran like it was brand new.
