My Chevy 4x4 runs great for awhile but when you stop to go somewhere. Its only driving in first and second gear. I was told it was a tyranny problem and just put a rebuild in. And it's still got the same problem. Not very happy, I put in $2,000 and I'm not sure if that was a problem. I had a person test it and they said it was the RP M's and that its going on all the time and that something is really wrong.

Is there any one that may know what it is, or what i can do?

Man, that sucks! The older trannys had a boost/shift control on the side of the trans, that used engine vacuum to tell it when to shift.
Is it throwing any codes or Check Engine lights?
Are you sure that the shop replaced it, or did they just do a flush-n-fill?

I would check to see if it has a detent cable to the transmision.this cable moves the throttle valve in the trans to tell it when to shift. If you do not have one then check to see if the trans has solinoids to shif it and if one is bad.It is hard to tell you info without
knowing what trans is in it!
