My son has 1993 Cavalier Z24 convertible which needs front struts / spring assemblies as they are original and, assuming we cannot find new parts, we have been told that they cannot be re-built. The vehicle is in great shape with low miles. Perfect world, I would like to get the struts replaced so he is not just riding on springs but also not looking to spend thousands of dollars customizing the car. Ideally, we would like the entire strut / spring assemblies for the mechanic's ease but if they have to "re-build" the assemblies, the front struts seem to be the components we cannot source. We have searched folks affiliated with Chevy, parts houses, etc. but have had no luck with finding parts for the front for our mechanic. Rear struts appear to be no problem to source. My contacts have told me that a lot of times another manufacturer / new part will fit with just minor modifications (e.g. remove a flange). Unfortunately, they have no experience with this model which is why I am posting here for perhaps, the experts! Does anyone know if there is an option for this problem? Thank you in advance.

No options here. Anyone know if there are other Chevy models / years that have same parts?

Only that generation cavalier 88 to 94 and Pontiac Sunbird would Interchange and it's discontinued. It's unusual to have a 20 year old car with original struts unless extremely low mileage.

Thanks. That's the part fit age range / models I keep looking up so thank you for confirming. Most places show something and then you get down several levels to "no availability" at purchase but I will contact this potential source. Yes, very low mileage on vehicle - 38k which is why the originals are still in place. Thanks again.

I assume they have started to leak?
