My name is Charlie and I have been a fan of General Motors trucks since I was about 4 years old. The Suburban is one of my favorite vehicles of all time. Today I was driving through a new construction neighborhood near where I live and I came across a light blue/white two-tone Chevrolet Suburban K1500 parked in the neighborhood. Based on the style of the headlight/grille trim, I am 99.9% sure it is a 1992 or 1993. It has the 1988-1994 interior design as well. I have a 1993 Chevy S10 Blazer/full-size Blazer/Suburban sales brochure that lists all of the available options and colors. The brochure shows that this generation of Suburban was not available with leather seats, just custom cloth or vinyl seats. To the best of my knowledge, leather became an option on this generation for the first time in the 1994 model year, and then in 1995 GM switched over to the redesigned interior. This 1992-1993 Suburban I found had a light blue or gray leather interior and it also seemed to have a leather/wood console that probably had a TV/VCR in it. The Suburban also had a batwing antenna on the roof, like one of those things you would see on a limousine or a conversion van. Since leather was not available as a factory option, I am thinking the Suburban I saw was a Centurion conversion (or some other conversion), or the seats were reupholstered in leather or taken from a newer Suburban. Can anybody confirm this for me? It would be greatly appreciated.

Also, back in the early 1990s, my neighbors had a 1987 Chevy Suburban 1500 4x4 that they bought brand new. This Suburban was brown and tan two-tone with brown interior, and I rode in it once or twice and seem to remember it having leather seats. This was in like 1994, I was only like 5, and the main reason I remember this is because it was very warm out the one time I remember riding in it. I was wearing shorts and a T-shirt, and my legs kept sticking to the seat. That Suburban, like I said, was fully loaded with power everything (windows, locks, etc), and not only did it have front air-conditioner, but it had the rear air-conditioner and heater as well. That was a NICE Suburban, but I don't remember whether it had leather or vinyl seats. Was leather upholstery available in the 1980s?
