I need a new end for my 79 vette. Could I take one out of a newer camaro/firebird: 85 or newer? I don't want to spend alot of money on buying the original if I can find one that will work and is better. I don't want a rebuild kit.

whats the point of having such a nice car and not getting leggit parts?

The whole rear end and suspension is unique to Corvette. After 30 years you need to replace everything and do upgrades to make it right. It's not cheep but worth doing! I rebuilt the complete rear in my 78 Vette.Check out Vette Brakes for a spring and other upgrades and plan to spend some money to do it right! Zip cCorvette parts is a good source too.

NO! The rear end in your Vet has independent
suspension. The ones under Camero/Firebirds
are standard. So, you will have to do something
else. Call around some salvage yards and maybe
they can suggest what to do.
Good luck!
