1978 Suburban 4speed Manual : directionals failed.

Greetings All,

I just inherited my Fathers 1978 Suburban Custom Deluxe, It has lived in Bishop CA its entire life and is is great running condition. Yesterday the turn signals worked, today I tried to use the Hazard lights, they did not work and after the turn signals stopped working. Is there a "need to do maintenance" in a 38 yr old truck in the steering column to keep these connections working properly? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

sounds like the flasher died, check the fuses also

Sounds like a fuse blew.

Not an expert in these specific trucks but as zora implied: keep it simple, check the simple stuff first:
Bulbs
Fuse(s)
Flasher
Circuit Ground
Switch
