hey yall,
ive got a 1972 chevy nova small block rust bucket.
im looking to restore it 100% orignal except for the speakers and stereo system possibly.
if you have any tips or web site that would be great.
also im doint the painting job myself as well as the build, but im not sure as far as were to get parts or small tips that you might have.
thx, jake
what i meant by painting is my uncle owns a paint shop and is gonna do it for free for me... hes had some cars that hes painted in hot rod mag...

Hm.

Bondo is your friend. It's not terribly fun to use however. That steel mesh can be bought from home depot as chickenwire, it's the same stuff. Angle grinders are your friend. You will need to know how to weld for serious body work.

Once you have all the spackle - oops I mean bondo - sanding and priming out of the way, consider how you're going to paint. Spray paint sucks and is terrible value for the money. Buying a paint sprayer can be a PITA process and make a mess. Consider rolling the paint on your car. See the SOURCES list. If/When I get around to painting the MR2 this season, I plan on giving this a shot.

I recommend The Paddock - they have a Nova specific catalog of restoration parts.
