1500 acceleration

In my 04 1500 im trying to improve my acceleration. If i pull out to early or try to go around someone my acceleration sucks. Anyway to improve it without programming and spending a ton of $$$$.

i already have straight pipes on it. Its single to duals but all i have is cats

The cats arent clogged? Plus the headers are better than the factory manifolds.

how would i test/find out if they are or not

The simplest way is to disconnect the exhaust in front of the cats and try it.

Ok ill try it. Would a throttle body spacer make any difference?

Throttle body spacers are just a waste of money on newer models. They made a small improvement on the older vehicles, but not enough to do what you're after. When's the last time you did a full tune up?

idk i got the truck about 3 months ago and it has 141K on it. so idk if he had one done or not.

well then start with the basics, all new filters, air and fuel, and spark plugs

Anytime I buy a used vehicle, I bring it home and do a complete tune-up on it, oil change and transmission fluid and filter change if it's serviceable. I also take a close look at the antifreeze and belts and hoses. Preventative maintenance can save you a lot of money and headaches down the road with a used vehicle.
