06 Corvette Z06, 03 MB SL55 AMG, 00 Lotus Esprit, 03 Viper, or 93 Ferrari

348TS...Which one should I buy? Why? Does anyone have any suggestions/advice? From the above selections..seems the newer and more powerful cars (vette, viper, and MB) are the most common on the road....However, the older and less powerful cars (Lotus, Ferrari) seems to be the rarest on the road. Therefore, having a greater "gawk" factor! The older cars (Lotus, Ferrari) have higher maintenance costs. Very difficult decision, since they are all at about the same initial cost. Oops, I forgot one other car, 02 Porsche 911 (996) turbo.

If it was based just on looks, I'd go for the LOTUS. like you said, you see all the others quite often on the road. everytime you'd go by in a LOTUS people would turn their head to see exactly what that is.

there's a lotus here in redlands, ca. and it makes me turn my head everytime.

you drive on the road everyday. not on a track. sure you might go once in a while but you wont be at the top of the line in a corvette. everyone is used to them even if they're wider and whatever else they are.

LOTUS is different, nice looking, and im sure the performance is awsome too.

I'm a Euro enthusiast, but I see one of your choices is the Z06. In that case, I'd buy the Z06 hands down. I don't know if you'll be taking it to a track, but although less powerful, the Z06 has comprable, if not better handling than the Ferrari GTB Fiorano. Overall the Z06 has the lowest price and some of the best performance in its class. Transmission feel is very mechanical too which is a plus, and the exhaust note is great (not as great as any Ferrari though). Maintenance costs will be lower than any European counterpart. The gawk factor of a Z06 in my opinion is pretty high because compared to a normal C6, it looks wider, lower, has fatter tires, hood scoops and side scoops. You'll definitely tell the difference.
