Radiator support confusion…

What are the differences between the 6 cylinder support and the big block support?
This is what I have recognized,
the opening for the radiator is smaller on the 6 cylinder support, and
the big block radiator tank supported mounting holes absent on the 6 cylinder support.

Is the stamping of the big block support different than the 6 cylinder creating more clearance between fan and the radiator?

Not sure what you are trying to accomplish but this aftermarket unit probably fits small block and big block.

I’m trying to determine if the mounting location of the radiator, in relationship to the water pump, on the big block support is different and creates more space between the fan and the radiator.
l have seen 3 different core supports being sold for the 68-72 Novas a 6cylinder,SB and BB. I was hoping that someone would know if there was truly a difference in the location of the radiator creating a need to change the core support or if the difference is nothing more than the holes that are made available for securing the radiator. It seems odd that the Nova shows a listing for 3 different supports and the camaro has one for 67-69

I have an original 6 cylinder car that now has big block and there is not enough clearance between the fan and the radiator when using the correct big block radiator. The previous owner had the incorrect saddle mount radiator in use rather than the correct BB radiator that mounts via the supports attached to the tanks

Cannt answer the question about the support but are you using a stock fan with a fan clutch?
