Hi there. First, allow me to say that I'm not a novice, but this one has me stumped. I have a 2000 Silverado 5.3. Yesterday, I replaced the turn signal multifunction switch. I purchased the truck a few months ago, and the security light has always been flashing. After install, the security light is solid and is exhibiting all of the symptoms of being engaged. I've tried every trick I know, the 10 minute reset, the 3-4 times to clear it, pulling fuses, taking the negative terminal off of the battery for an hour. I am at a loss.
I realize that there are other components that could be bad, causing this, but as it was fine until the switch replacement yesterday, I am doubtful. As it stands, my truck is now a lawn ornament until I get this worked out. Any ideas that I haven't thought of?

The sensor for Passlock anti theft is part of the lock cylinder. Have you checked that all connections to the cylinder are good?
The sensor may have failed.

Just wanted this out there for the record in case anyone else has this issue: The TBC fuse was blown. Once I replaced it, had to do the 3 times (10 minute) reset....fired up just fine. Thanks for the input!
