New to me '99 K1500 Suburban with 5.7L Vortec.
At highway speed the oil pressure gauge reads from 50 PSI to 25 PSI. It will stay in one spot for a while then the needle will jerk up and down thru a 20 PSI range. Then it will settle down for a while, probably at a different PSI from when the needle started jumping around.
Did the same thing, both before and after an oil & filter change.
I'm hoping it is a loose or dirty connection at the oil pressure sending unit.
I do not have a service manual yet - can someone tell me where the oil pressure sending unit is located on the 5.7?
Thanks
Jim
