I am having issues with my HVAC system. The rear AC is ice cold as it should be, the front USED to be ice cold but recently hasn't been. I took off the blend door actuator and it is functioning properly. I removed the cabin air filter and the air blowing over the coil is very hot, hotter than outside air. If I turn down the fan speed the coil cools right down. Can someone educate me on how this system works? It seems like the heater core is stuck open and the air is both being heated and cooled if that is even possible with this system. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

what you describe as a coil, do you mean the evaporator core? If so, the hot outside blows through the core and comes out the other side cold. The more air blowing through the core the warmer the core will feel since it is absorbing the heat from the air. Have you tried one of the aftermarket charging kits with a built in pressure gauge to determine if you are low on gas?

The system is at the right pressure. Right now I'm thinking the issue is the oriface tube.
