I'm still surprised that you got the CTS for that price. I didn't get any wire with mine and even online it's listed for $17.99. Whatever!
I worked on cleaning up my timing "plate" (which I now know is the timing "tab") and it's slow going but I did make some progress. I think I can get to it well enough to clean it if I remove the fan shroud (I think I've removed that before) and also loosen the serpentine belt. That looks like it will give me enough working room to clean the crud off the "tab." It's not washing off with gasoline -- it's pretty much hard-caked-on stuff.
And I have not been able to find an actual image of my original-equipment "timing tab" online. There are lots of images of replacement tabs, but they are not exact replicas of what I have and thus the markings are not the same and thus don't translate to the markings on mine. So I need to clean this tab until I can see those markings clearly enough.
Even tho' I highly suspect that the painted mark I went by is either right on, or close enough.

Yes. It's completely unaccessible from underneath. If the alternator and air pump (or power steering pump? -- I forget which one) are removed, then there's very good access to the timing tab.
But there's no way I'm removing all that stuff. I can get to it okay by removing the fan shroud (no biggie) and loosening the serpentine belt and sliding it out of the way a bit (also no biggie).
As to Csides's CTS, I see that AutoZone has the Valucraft/TruGrade/Coolant Temperature Sensor for $11.99. (Part Number: SU109TG . Alternate Part Number: SU109TG). So that must be what he got.
I got the Duralast for $17.99.
Of course, I needed one and he apparently doesn't.
Well I guess they were not in the clips which allowed them to touch the burning hot motor. First mechanic was a moron and did something. I have installed the new wires and secured them so this wont happen again. It got so hot my air filter melted a tiny bit. Crazy crap!
