I'm still surprised that you got the CTS for that price. I didn't get any wire with mine and even online it's listed for $17.99. Whatever!
I worked on cleaning up my timing "plate" (which I now know is the timing "tab") and it's slow going but I did make some progress. I think I can get to it well enough to clean it if I remove the fan shroud (I think I've removed that before) and also loosen the serpentine belt. That looks like it will give me enough working room to clean the crud off the "tab." It's not washing off with gasoline -- it's pretty much hard-caked-on stuff.
And I have not been able to find an actual image of my original-equipment "timing tab" online. There are lots of images of replacement tabs, but they are not exact replicas of what I have and thus the markings are not the same and thus don't translate to the markings on mine. So I need to clean this tab until I can see those markings clearly enough.
Even tho' I highly suspect that the painted mark I went by is either right on, or close enough.
