My 2007 Cobalt rides rough , like any bump or railroad track is like hard , I cringe whenever I go over a bump. Its like metal slamming on metal.

Its like there is NO bounce.I always drive slow its not like I drive like a maniac and Iam the only one that drives the car.

Is that a symptom of needing new shocks ?

What elese could it be ?

How much am I looking at to install shocks ? Materials and labor ?

Can you just do the fronts or do you have to do the rear to ?
I just read if shocks are going bad they will be more bouncy when braking or going over bumps , so Iam not getting any bounce.

What else would make my ride so rough ?
It is the LS , basic.
The car has 60,000 miles mostly all highway but I live in a city so it it is on bad paved streets sometimes.
It does not bounce like they say when shocks are bad , but it should not feel like the car suspension is being slammed on every little bump.

What would cause no bouncing ?

that car is only 2 yrs. old. they should,nt be worn out yet. if you have too much air in the tires then that can do it. when the tires are cold gage the tires and put in the right amount of air.

ur car is the ss ???.....cas either way the reason ur feeling teh bumps is cas ur suspension is tuned for "sport"......u cud get smaller rims with bigger tires...that wud take most of the shock out.... or u cud buy different suspension...but keep in mind most aftermkt companies r going the opposite of wat u want...they make it harder not softer.....good luck
