z71 with 180k miles for $4000? It has the 5.7L V8, automatic transmission, 4 wheel drive, power windows and door locks. It is also lifted about 4 inches with over sized tires on it. I would like to buy a cheap reliable truck but am hesitant due to the fact that it has 180k miles on it. Will it last a while? or will i just end up pouring money into it?

3K would be more realistic, also, check the maint. records. If its been well maintained, it prolly has at least 100k miles left in it before it needs a rebuild, but if its been beat on, then who knows when it will die. If its automatic, check to make sure the tranny fluid has been changed every 50k - a tranny rebuilt is neither fun nor cheap.

Four grand for a truck with 180K miles?

I paid that much for the same truck 2 years younger with half the miles, and the same options, and a completely rust free body. ... You are nuts if you pay that much for that truck, especially if it has any rust at all on it.

if i were you i would only buy it if the price came down quite a bit, it has a lot of miles on it, and unless you personally know the person you dont know how it really was drove and how well it was really taken care of. thats a lot of miles on a truck when you dont know how it was taken care of, and for a 94? that truck is 15 years old you could find one a little newer for around the same price.
