Will the gas tank on a 1997 Chevrolet Malibu fit on a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu Classic?

I need to change out my fuel pump but it will be easier to just change out the tank. I have a 97 Malibu gas tank and i just wanted know if anyone knew if it will fit on my 04 Chevrolet Malibu Classic.
