i have a 1996 chevrolet siverado c1500 5.7 liter v8, the fuel pump recently went out and i replaced the pump, the sending unit, the fuel filter and fuel pressure regulator and it will not start now. i can force feed the throttle body gas and it will fire right up. also if i remove the battery and allow it to sit for a few minutes i can put the battery back in and it will fire immediatly but then die just as fast as it started. i cannot figure this out. Anyone out there have this problem befor???

thanks,
stephen
i have bled the fuel lines, seems to be no air in the lines. i have triple checked everything from wiring to the flow of fuel through the fuel filter, it just wont fire unless force fed fuel. i have even checked the spark plugs and im getting spark.
i have not checked the fuel pressure but i have relieved the pressure through the valve behind the throttle and come to think of it, it seemed like there was not much pressure at all, just a real quick spew thats about 4-5 inches tall then it dribbles out,
Just to clarify, the truck is getting fuel to the engine, the pump does come on, seems to me as if there is not enough pressure maybe?
