This just happened to me a few days ago.
I was on the freeway going home, I was fine going 75mph, then I hit traffic, slowed down, then I was going speed up, then I noticed it wasn't accelerating, kept pushing on the pedal, but it wasn't getting any faster, then I was about to pull over to get off the freeway, then it like pushed through and started going faster again, then the engine light came on. Later I put some trans fluid in, then the light went off, I am going to take it in, but before does anyone know what the problem could be.
I do notice that when in freeway traffic the car does overheat almost all the way(does this a lot), but when going place close by, that is not doing a lot of driving, it is fine. Like today went to work 15mins away, car is doing fine, but yesterday went on the 101N, after a while driving, more then 30mins, the car didn't want to go past 70(car was overheating a little too). pushing the pedal all the way. then like before it kind of pushed through, and went normal and the engine light did not come on. Would I just need to get the fluids replaced?
