If the car has been shut off with the battery still hooked up to it, it has trouble starting or doesn't start at all. This forces me to unhook the battery every time I turn the car off. I believe the cold weather here in upstate NY may possibly have something to do with this issue. Does the starter need to be replaced? It makes a very high-pitched noise whenever the engine is turned over.
