it is actually a cartridge? I bought the oil filter and oil the other day and the filter actually looks like the same stuff an air filter is made of... I think the guy called it a cartridge?? Where does it go?

there is probably a can shaped bulge on the side of your engine block, with a plastic looking cap on it...that is where it goes.

worst case scenerio, take it to jiffy lube and ask to see where it is when they change the oil.
