1989 corvette with a few problems.? Todays issue Im needing help with is how to go about removing my front cooling fan. Somewhere down the road I have ran over a plastic sack (similar thickness as to a Walmart plastic sack) and it has gotten sucked up and wound around my fan. I will need easy to follow instructions please. Thank you to all who give help on this!
P.S. If I had the money to take it to an auto shop to have it removed, I wouldn't be on Yahoo Answers asking for help.

changing this fan is a real pain in the butt...I have no doubt of your ability, however, you are better off in my opinion to send this one to a pro, the proshop will even get burned about half the time if they use gm's labor rate on this job, do yourself a favor, get the car to a reputable specialty shop, and make an appointment for yourself for a pedicure or whatever, you will be glad you did...

not that i don't think you can do it but there's allot of bolts and clips to remove, also you may need to evac the freon from the a/c, take it in and see how much it would cost to remove the bag, they may be able to do it without removing the fan.

That is easy, you do not have to remove it, go get a sharp knife, razor blade, or a utility carpet cutting knife, and just start cutting, it is a slow process but is possible, you will have to cut the pieces out slowly and methodically, but eventually you can get all the plastic cut out.
