whats the problem with my 04 chevy malibu?

i just recently bought a used 2004 chevy malibu LS V6 ..98k...i've been having this start up problem with the car..where i turn the key and it sounds like the the engines skipping but doesnt want to catch .so i give it gas and when it starts up it shudders a bit almost like it doesnt want to start up and then starts up..recently i been shutting everything off in my car when i get out of it it seemed to work for a while my car was starting up no problem then it started up again ..now im at the point where i just give it gas because i dont want to sit around and do the "wait to turn the key "...i was wondering if anyone has had the same problems and could tell me what the problem is and whether i could fix it myself or i got to take it to a mechanic

I have an 04 Malibu Maxx (ls v6) with 120,000 miles and mine has done the same thing since purchasing it new. The dealer could, of course, never find the problem and went as far as accusing me of overcranking the ignition (which is impossible on the electronic starters). It seems to be a flaw in the fuel delivery system as my sister in law and mother in law, both 04 Malibu (ls v6) owners are having the same problem. If you find out, post to the forum so the rest of us can talk to our mechanics.
