changing gears? My Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4wd (electronic push button) 5.3L V8 Vin B truck makes a clicking/thud noise when it shifts gears, particularly into second and into third (assuming it starts off in and downshifts to first). It is only audible with the windows rolled down. There is no hesitation felt in the engine or loss of power, there is just the noise. If I take off at high acceleration, the clicking noise is either not there or not audible over the sound of the engine.
This may be nothing, or may also be a sign of a major repair, I just want to make sure. This is my first Chevrolet Silverado and my first 4 wheel drive vehicle. I bought it used with 64k miles on it. It could have been making the noise the entire time I've had it, I just did not notice it due to having the windows rolled up.
