What upgrades should I put on my camaro engine?

What are some cheaper performance upgrades for a 305 5.0L V8 camaro? I was thinking a performance thermostat, intake manifold, carburetor, headers, muffler, plugs, wires, distributor...Those are all possible to do with the engine in the car. I do not want to remove the engine yet, as I do not have the equipment, experience, or money.

those are the only things you can do without pulling the motor. look at aftermarket heads too.
